The first edition titled the World Toxicologic Pathology Congress (WTPC) will take place from April 21st to 26t, 2018 at the International Broadcasting Center of University of São Paulo (USP).
The conference is a big initiative of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at USP with the Latin American Association of Toxicological and Experimental Pathology (ALAPTE) and the International Federation of Societies of Toxicologic Pathology (IFSTP).
Before the WTPC, the ALAPTE organized others precursors events about Toxicologic Pathology, like two conferences and four symposia. Now, the association hopes to have more researchers debating about the subject with the congress WTPC at USP in São Paulo city.
According to the organizers, the WTPC wants to show a wide vision about Toxicologic Pathology in the 21st century, for this reason, the congress is going to offer a lot of news about Pathology in all Latin America. They think that, in this way, it will be possible to stimulate the creation of more postgraduate programs in Toxicologic Pathology with experimental models in vitro and in vivo based of the new scientific researches.
At it’s first edition, the WTPC 2018 brings mini-courses, alternative models for toxicological studies, lectures and poster presentations.
One of the highlights in the World Toxicologic Pathology Congress is the “pot-pourri” of interesting cases about animal and toxicological pathology showed by Dra. Sausan Elmore, a renomed pathologist who works at the National Toxicology Program in the USA.
